Design Your CV – A Custom eLearning Course on Resume Writing
Project Overview
At InnoLoom Solutions, we often meet people who feel that the hiring process is stacked against them. They spend hours perfecting their CVs, only to be met with silence. That was exactly the challenge PRIMA OSEO Vaud brought to us. Their mission is to help job seekers in Switzerland regain confidence and find meaningful employment. What they needed was a way to guide learners through the mysterious world of CV writing and applicant tracking systems in a way that was both practical and reassuring.
Together, we created “Design Your CV”, a custom eLearning course that gives job seekers more than just advice—it gives them an experience. Instead of reading static guidelines, learners step into a journey that feels interactive, human, and tailored to their struggles.
The Challenge
PRIMA OSEO Vaud already offered job seekers some basic online materials—digital presentations that were used in blended learning programs. While useful, these resources often felt static and didn’t fully engage learners who were already anxious about the job hunt. The team wanted something more dynamic. They envisioned a modern, interactive learning experience that could capture attention, feel personal, and guide learners through the intimidating process of writing a CV.
Their goal was clear: move beyond slides and PDFs to create a SCORM-compliant course that felt alive, supportive, and practical—something people would actually enjoy using.
Our Approach
We knew from the start that this couldn’t be a lecture. It had to feel like a conversation. So, we framed the course as a journey, beginning with a warm welcome that reassures learners they’re in the right place. From there, the course builds momentum—first uncovering what happens behind the scenes in recruitment, then showing how to structure a CV, and finally guiding learners through tailoring their application to specific job postings.
The tone was important. We wrote it as if a coach were sitting beside the learner, gently nudging them forward, reminding them that mistakes are normal, and celebrating progress. Everything was designed to be short and digestible: an animation here, a quick quiz there, a reflection exercise that helps them pause and think.
We also introduced vibe-coded interactions—subtle, well-timed microinteractions that make the course feel responsive and alive. A checklist only appears when learners are ready, a hint pulses in at the right moment, and the screen never feels crowded.

The Solution in Action
The course unfolds like a story. It begins with the reality check: who actually reads a CV, and how? Learners discover not only how recruiters scan documents in seconds but also how applicant tracking systems sort applications before a human ever sees them.
Then comes the heart of the course: building a Master CV. Learners collect every experience, skill, and achievement into one complete record—then learn how to adapt it for specific job postings. Interactive challenges reinforce this process: spotting errors in sample CVs, dragging and dropping sections into order, or rephrasing job descriptions with measurable results.
By the final section, learners don’t just know theory—they’ve practiced, reflected, corrected, and built something of their own. The closing quiz feels less like a test and more like a rehearsal before sending a CV into the real world.

Technology and Craft
I led the project as the primary instructional designer, steering it from idea to launch. We began with several working sessions to truly understand the problem from PRIMA OSEO Vaud’s side and from the learners’ perspective—where confidence drops, where ATS rules confuse, and where slide-based materials fall short. From those conversations I shaped the learning architecture, then mapped the course plan in Miro to visualise the journey screen by screen. That plan became a concise storyboard with clear interactions and tone, which I turned into a working prototype so we could test pacing, voice, and usability early.
Once the flow felt right, I produced the multimedia: short-form animations and visuals, clean narration and audio edits, and the interaction logic that keeps the course moving at a human pace. We iterated with the client, gathered feedback from a pilot group of learners, and folded those insights back into the content and UX. The final build shipped as both SCORM and HTML packages for easy LMS deployment—polished, lightweight, and ready to scale.
Behind the scenes, the course was built in Rise 360 with custom enhancements. We blended animations from Vyond and After Effects, visuals crafted in Illustrator, and carefully timed narration edited in Audiate. Each element was chosen to support the flow rather than distract from it.

Results and Impact
The impact of the course was clear: learners moved through the CV-writing process with more structure and less hesitation. By breaking down each step into guided practice, they could see exactly what needed to change and how to do it. The course didn’t just provide information — it turned abstract advice into concrete actions.
For PRIMA OSEO, this project delivered a scalable eLearning solution that captured their coaching expertise in a digital format. Instead of repeating the same workshop multiple times, they now had a custom eLearning course that learners could access anytime, on their own schedules. It proved cost-effective, sustainable, and capable of reaching more people without sacrificing quality or support.
A Partnership with Purpose
This project was more than instructional design—it was about alignment. Together with PRIMA OSEO, we built a learning experience that empowers job seekers in Switzerland at one of the most vulnerable points in their career.
When learning is crafted with care, it becomes more than content—it becomes a companion.
Looking Ahead
“Design Your CV” is already making a difference, but it’s also just the beginning. We see opportunities to expand it with modules on interview preparation, networking, and personal branding. Each would build on the same principles: human-centered design, interactivity that flows naturally, and an empathetic tone that respects the learner’s journey.
Conclusion
Designing this course reminded us why we do what we do. With the right blend of custom eLearning design, storytelling, and technology, we don’t just transfer knowledge—we build confidence, reduce anxiety, and open doors.
