Why I Launched Innoloom: My Journey Into Custom eLearning Design

Innoloom started with a pause. My contract at the Global Fund ended, and suddenly my carefully packed calendar went blank.

After the initial “well… now what?” I did something I’d secretly wanted for a while: I travelled. Six weeks of wandering, no inboxes, plenty of walks, and space to think.

When I came back, the questions I’d avoided for years felt unavoidable: What do I actually enjoy? What am I really good at?

The answers lined up quickly. I love learning and development. I’m happiest when I’m being creative. I pick up technology fast. And I’m naturally a project manager—I like to get things done and see them work.

Put all of that together, and one path blinked like a neon sign: instructional design.

The path that led me here

Looking back, it makes sense. At Heineken, I designed soft-skills courses. Then I moved into Lean implementation, where training shifted to operational and technical skills. Later, I took on talent development roles, helping people not just succeed in today’s job, but prepare for what’s next.

Those experiences taught me something important: learning only matters when it changes how people work, connect, or grow. That principle is at the heart of what I now build at Innoloom Solutions.

Why I went custom

Big organizations gave me structure and rigor, but also a lot of steps—reviews, sign-offs, endless “let’s revisit this later.” Helpful, yes, but sometimes it smoothed courses into something safe instead of something memorable.

I wanted to work closer to learners. To test prototypes earlier. To mix storytelling with interaction. And to play with technology—because a touch of code, a clever animation, or a well-placed gamification element can make a lesson feel alive.

That’s how Innoloom was born: a home for custom eLearning in Switzerland that blends design, visuals, and interactivity into something practical and human. Every course I deliver is SCORM-compliant (and often mobile-first), so it runs smoothly on any LMS. Some projects even explore xAPI learning analytics or career skills eLearning like CV writing, interview training, or STAR method practice.

Switzerland as the right base

Switzerland is a fascinating place to design learning. High standards, multiple languages, and a mix of industries—NGOs, corporates, public sector, startups—all bring their own challenges. It keeps me sharp and endlessly curious.

Here, I can design microlearning solutions that fit into people’s busy lives, or larger blended programs that track ROI and effectiveness. The goal is always the same: courses that are clear, inclusive, and built with the learner in mind.

Building Innoloom

Innoloom didn’t start with a business plan. It started with a pencil. I sketched a logo on paper, then re-drew it in Illustrator, tweaked it until it felt right, and slowly built from there: mockups, website tests, experiments with Lottie animations, a bit of 3D, some JavaScript and CSS for movement.

It was playful, messy, and exciting. And that spirit is still here. Innoloom is now my space to bring together everything I’ve learned: instructional design, creativity, project management, and technology.

What’s next

The journey is still unfolding—new projects, new collaborations, new tools to explore. I’m especially curious about AI in instructional design, and how it can support—not replace—designers in creating learning that feels more personal.

If there’s one constant in all of this, it’s curiosity. It’s what started Innoloom, and it’s what will keep it moving forward.

✨ If you’re looking for custom eLearning in Switzerland—courses that are SCORM-compliant, engaging, and built with people in mind—I’d love to connect.
